Phakthavy “Nick” Phoukeo joined LAI in 2023 as our Human Resource Development Admin officer. Today, Nick is an essential part of our HRD team, making sure training venues are booked and our events run smoothly.
𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 I grew up in Vientiane Capital and graduated with an MBA in 2023.
In 2018 I was fortunate to be accepted into the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP).
I enjoy taking part in a range of activities that promote relaxation, like travelling, going for walks in parks, or just shopping. I also love reading books while I have quiet moments balancing with time spent on social media to update myself with new trends of fashion and technology, and global issues.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞? The part of my work that excites me the most is facilitating and assuring smooth operations of all HRD activities. I love to learn new things from the training programs we deliver to our partner organisations and meeting and networking with new people.

This #IWD meet four inspiring Lao women who are leading the charge to promote gender equality within the Lao public service.
These women have recently completed the Australia Awards Short Course “Gender Mainstreaming in the Public Sector” and have returned to Laos to champion gender equality at the policy level and within their workplaces.
Fund by Australia in Laos, the course promotes inclusive and sustainable human resource management. In addition to study in Laos, participants visited Australia, where they could see how gender inclusive policies and programs are making a difference in the Australian public service.
Gender equality is essential for both economic and human development, and it plays a crucial role in helping the Government of Laos achieve the goals outlined in its National Plan of Action on Gender Equality.

This #IWD meet four inspiring Lao women who are leading the charge to promote gender equality within the Lao public service.
These women have recently completed the Australia Awards Short Course “Gender Mainstreaming in the Public Sector” and have returned to Laos to champion gender equality at the policy level and within their workplaces.
Fund by Australia in Laos, the course promotes inclusive and sustainable human resource management. In addition to study in Laos, participants visited Australia, where they could see how gender inclusive policies and programs are making a difference in the Australian public service.
Gender equality is essential for both economic and human development, and it plays a crucial role in helping the Government of Laos achieve the goals outlined in its National Plan of Action on Gender Equality.
