Vim has recently been appointed as the Acting Program Director for the Laos Australia Institute. She has extensive experience working in Australia and Laos and has deep knowledge of the HRD and education sectors.

𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝:
My career has progressed from hands-on roles to technical, managerial, and leadership positions within human resource development. I’ve worked with Australian and international organisations, focusing on building capacity and fostering professional communities. My upbringing in Australia and work in Laos has taught me that collaboration unlocks potential to lasting, positive outcomes.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞?
🔹Getting to work with talented, caring, hardworking colleagues and partners!
🔹Working to address the current challenges and opportunities affecting the lives of people in Lao PDR
🔹As an Australian-Lao, it's an opportunity for me to deepen and strengthen the relationship of both counties and diverse cultures that have nurtured and embraced me.
🔹We have some key goals that we want to kick within 2025, and I will do my best to support our partners and team to get there.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞?
I love hanging out with my family, and I love cooking (and eating). I love exploring places with friends, and I like lounge room dancing (....ok just dancing period).

In 2022 Vansana was recognised as an emerging leader with a #MekongAustraliaPartnership Australia Awards scholarship. In 2024 he received an #AlumniInnovationGrant 💡 to use his communication skills to teach financial literacy skills to Lao teenagers, helping them to plan for their future. 🗣️💰

💬 For Vansana, International Youth Day is a reminder that the future is in the hands of youth ✨, and most importantly how young people aren't just the future - they're actively shaping the present.
