𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. My career has progressed from rural development in Africa to acute emergency response in Ukraine, Iraq, and Myanmar. I have worked in Laos since 2020, leading partnerships in education, nutrition, health, and human resource development. Education and capacity building have been key themes throughout my work, and I understand the value these initiatives bring to long-term, sustainable growth.

As an Australia Awards scholar, she completed her PhD in Business, focusing on Entrepreneurship and Finance, at Flinders University in 2021 🎓🇦🇺, and is now making a difference as the Deputy Director General at the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Dr Malaykham is active in the Australia Awards Alumni community, acting as a mentor for the Australia-funded Women in Leadership program and a founding member of the Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Community of Practice.

A day where women and men unite around the world to promote respect and non-violence. 🌍✋ For Malaykham, it’s a day to reflect on the progress in gender equality in Laos. “Women are now visible leaders, policy makers, economic actors, entrepreneurs, innovators and researchers. Promoting gender equality in the public sector and gender-inclusive business growth is not only a matter of fairness — it’s essential for Laos’ sustainable and inclusive economic development.”
