ໃນປະຈຸບັນ ມີອະດີດນັກສຶກສາ ລາວ-ອົດສະຕຣາລີ 5 ທ່ານ ທີ່ກຳລັງຈັດຕັ້ງປະຕິບັດໂຄງການພາຍໃຕ້ ທຶນຊ່ວຍເຫຼືອລ້າຂະໜາດນ້ອຍ ສຳລັບອະດີດນັກສຶກສາລາວ-ອົດສະຕຣາລີໃນ ທົ່ວ ສ.ປ.ປ. ລາວ. ພວກເຮົາຫວັງວ່າຈະໄດ້ແບ່ງປັນຜົນສຳເລັດຂອງທຸກໆໂຄງການ ໃນໄວໆນີ້! --- The team from the Laos Australia Institute recently travelled to Luang Prabang province to check on the progress of 2 Alumni Innovation Grant projects.
At Sithan Primary School, Somchay Makesavanh is busily preparing a special learning space to support children with autism. In Luang Prabang, many children with special needs stay at home because their school does not offer appropriate support. Somchay’s project aims to create a model classroom for teachers and schools to learn from.
And, in Viengkham district, Phaeng Xaphokhame is continuing his excellent work in supporting local farmers. From preserving native seeds and increasing incomes through honey production, Phaeng is now looking to increase bamboo production for food, construction and handicrafts.

Ketsana Xaiyasarn’s journey began in a small riverside village in Vientiane Province, where life close to the water shaped his deep respect for nature and the communities it sustains. That early connection would one day inspire his career in environmental protection and regional cooperation.
He began his career in water resources management and later joined the Lao National Mekong Committee Secretariat. Over the years, he has grown into a respected leader in international cooperation, helping bring countries together to protect shared water resources and build a more sustainable future for the Mekong region.
With support from the 🇦🇺 Australia Awards Scholarships, Ketsana completed his Master of International Development at South Australia’s Flinders University in 2021. The experience broadened his leadership, confidence, and global perspective, while reinforcing a key lesson that continues to guide his work: “Sustainable development is not only about managing natural resources effectively but also about improving the lives and resilience of the people who depend on them.”
Today, as Director of Upper Mekong Cooperation Division at the 🇱🇦 Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Ketsana is a champion for climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and sustainable livelihoods across Laos and the Mekong region. Through his work, he promotes cooperation, people-centred development, and the sustainable management of shared natural resources.
His message is both simple and powerful: “Every small action matters. From reducing plastic use to planting trees, each of us has a role to play in creating a greener, healthier future for Laos.”
Australia is working to support inclusive development in the Lao PDR through the English Language Equity Program. Delivered by Vientiane College and funded through the Laos Australia Institute, the program aims to improve English language skills for Lao people with disabilities and those living outside the capital city.
The course focuses on practical language skills for IELTS preparation, general English and learning strategies, as well as professional development to support scholarship applications and interview readiness.
Improving English language skills can open opportunities for employment, further education, and regional dialogue, and we are excited to see what is next for these talented students!

Through the Women in Leadership program, 15 outstanding Australian Alumni women have successfully completed a 14-month leadership journey to build the skills, confidence and networks needed to navigate the challenges faced by women leaders in Laos.
We recently held a closing ceremony to celebrate the program that brought together learning, coaching, and opportunities to learn from each other’s experiences, test ideas, and undertake group projects.

Ketsana Xaiyasarn’s journey began in a small riverside village in Vientiane Province, where life close to the water shaped his deep respect for nature and the communities it sustains. That early connection would one day inspire his career in environmental protection and regional cooperation.
He began his career in water resources management and later joined the Lao National Mekong Committee Secretariat. Over the years, he has grown into a respected leader in international cooperation, helping bring countries together to protect shared water resources and build a more sustainable future for the Mekong region.
With support from the 🇦🇺 Australia Awards Scholarships, Ketsana completed his Master of International Development at South Australia’s Flinders University in 2021. The experience broadened his leadership, confidence, and global perspective, while reinforcing a key lesson that continues to guide his work: “Sustainable development is not only about managing natural resources effectively but also about improving the lives and resilience of the people who depend on them.”
Today, as Director of Upper Mekong Cooperation Division at the 🇱🇦 Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Ketsana is a champion for climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and sustainable livelihoods across Laos and the Mekong region. Through his work, he promotes cooperation, people-centred development, and the sustainable management of shared natural resources.
His message is both simple and powerful: “Every small action matters. From reducing plastic use to planting trees, each of us has a role to play in creating a greener, healthier future for Laos.”

Australia is working to support inclusive development in the Lao PDR through the English Language Equity Program. Delivered by Vientiane College and funded through the Laos Australia Institute, the program aims to improve English language skills for Lao people with disabilities and those living outside the capital city.
The course focuses on practical language skills for IELTS preparation, general English and learning strategies, as well as professional development to support scholarship applications and interview readiness.
Improving English language skills can open opportunities for employment, further education, and regional dialogue, and we are excited to see what is next for these talented students!

Through the Women in Leadership program, 15 outstanding Australian Alumni women have successfully completed a 14-month leadership journey to build the skills, confidence and networks needed to navigate the challenges faced by women leaders in Laos.

This is not a general English language training program open for applications. Participants were selected from the Australia Awards Scholarship applicant pool as part of targeted support to strengthen their English proficiency and future readiness.
