𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: 𝐗𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐠!

Xieng Duangviva joined LAI as an intern in January, through a program that helps place people living with disabilities into the workforce. For Xieng, this was a great opportunity to use his skills and to experience working in an office environment.

Since then, Xieng has excelled! He’s a valued team member and has been recently promoted to a new role as Graphic Design Assistant, utilising his graphic design skills to help communicate our story.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐗𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐠! 𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦!

---------------

“My name is Xieng and I am an individual with a physical disability, but I can travel and walk independently. I completed a diploma at the Sikeut Vocational School for the Disabled, majoring in Information Technology.

What I appreciate most about this internship was the opportunity to apply my skills in real world tasks and collaborate effectively within a team. This experience not only enhanced my technical abilities but also taught me the importance of teamwork and effective communication in the workplace.

My long-term goal is to become a creative designer who can use technology to create new things.

I would like to convey to employers in Laos that people with disabilities are also capable and motivated individuals. If given the right opportunities and support, we can use our abilities to contribute effectively to the development of our organisations.”
